Doris Duke Charitable Foundation awarded a total of $5.7 million in grants which will be shared by twenty-one performing artists in the fields of jazz, contemporary dance and theater to provide them the freedom to take creative risks and explore new ideas.
The recipients represent the inaugural class of Doris Duke Artists coming from New York, Washington, Texas, California, Illinois and Ohio.
